Thomson Planning & Heritage offers both site-specific and thematic research. Particular areas of activity to date include the following, but proposals for research on any aspect of planning and conservation are welcome:
- Research into the origins and significance of individual buildings and sites
- Evaluation of planning and conservation practice (via in-depth case studies, regional or national analysis of applications, documentary review, stakeholder interviews and/or questionnaire surveys)
- Evolution of policy and legislation.
